With the rise of big data, VAI recognizes the need for specialized fellowships focused on bioinformatics and biostatistics. Like a traditional postdoctoral fellowship, bioinformatics fellows at the Institute receive dedicated mentorship from the Institute’s accomplished principal investigators but work on projects aimed at gleaning meaningful results from large, complex datasets. Their work is supported by the Institute’s robust high-performance computing system and extensive data storage capabilities. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs also provides a comprehensive professional development program. Learn more about VAI postdoctoral fellows’ demographic and career outcomes here.
