Biography

Dr. Yan Yan earned her B.S. in biological sciences from East China University of Science and Technology and her Ph.D. in structural science from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her graduate work focused on the structural and functional study of AMPK, as well as the relationship between γ-secretase and Aβ. She first joined the laboratory of Dr. Eric Xu at Van Andel Research Institute as a Ph.D. candidate in 2014, before joining the lab of Dr. Karsten Melcher as a postdoctoral fellow in 2018.

 

Current research focus

Dr. Yan Yan studies the structure and function of AMP-activated protein kinase using X-ray and cryo-EM.
