About the Postdoctoral Program

Choosing where to complete a postdoctoral fellowship is a significant decision not only for the person seeking the fellowship and his or her career, but also for their family. Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) provides a comprehensive mix of research experience, postdoctoral support and opportunities, and a competitive salary and location.

At VARI, the fellowship period is a time of advanced training through supervised research, in which each fellow works on an individual project focused on his or her area of study. The postdoctoral fellow will, in agreement with his/her mentor, undertake activities that provide the experience and knowledge essential for career advancement. VARI and postdoc mentors provide effective and regular career guidance to the trainees in addition to structured development opportunities such as workshops, seminars and conferences.
