Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) conducts basic and translational research into the epigenetic, genetic and molecular origins of cancer, Parkinson’s, and other diseases. Although VARI is involved in clinical trials, please note that VARI does not treat patients and clinical trials for patients are not conducted at VARI. VARI also does not give medical advice. Run by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is a searchable site with information on clinical trials in all 50 states and countries around the world.

National Cancer Institute 

National Cancer Institute (NCI), a part of NIH, is the U.S. government’s main agency for cancer research. Their website provides general information on cancer, research, grants and training opportunities.

Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups 

In addition to a searchable database for cancer clinical trials, the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups also provides resources for people considering enrolling in trials.

Cancer Research Consortium of West Michigan

The Cancer Research Consortium of West Michigan provides information on patient resources and clinical trials.

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)

NINDS is NIH’s main institute that supports Parkinson’s disease research. Their website provides disease-specific information as well as information on clinical trials.

National Institute on Aging (NIA)

NIA is the federal agency responsible for the research into aging, including diseases that become more prevalent with age.
